Bio
How I got interested in being a therapist…
I grew up on a cattle ranch and majored in psychology in college. I liked learning about topics such as motivation and learning, however I knew I wanted a job where I could be active and work with my hands. An internship at a therapeutic horseback riding center helped guide me to consider occupational therapy. Before getting my OT degree, I worked as a direct support professional, helping individuals with developmental disabilities learn independent living skills, and as a rehab tech in a long-term acute care hospital. These jobs helped confirm my idea that I wanted to be an OT because I wanted to know more so that I could have a greater impact on the people I help.
Why I like working with kids:
I like working with kids because it’s fun!
